Each collage in this series is made from organic materials, candy wrappers, magazine cut-outs, and acrylic paint. Colorful flowers are cut from gardening catalogues and adhered to a weighty surface created from canvas paper layered with acrylic gesso. With red seeds and white flesh, the pineberry (a hybrid) serves as the visual motif in "Spiritual Fruit.” I have chosen to complete one piece (of nine) a year, making this work a product of time, much like the supernatural attributes in Galatians 5:22-23 that grow in the lives of those who follow Yeshua (ישוע).
FEARFULLY & WONDERFULLY MADE
BEAUTY FOR ASHES
These are made from decals, glitter, and magazine paper-- “low” art materials that represent the brokenness of life, which when placed in the hands of Yeshua, finds healing, restoration, and a new beginning. According to 1 Corinthians 1:26-29, God delights in turning what is weak, lowly, and despised in the world to exhibit His wisdom, power, and glory so that no flesh might boast in the presence of God.
